Q. How private is the property?
A. Bliss Cottage is located on a wooded lot screened from the neighbours by foliage

Q. Will we need to bring dishes and cutlery? Pots and pans?
A. No we provide everything you need in the kitchen except consumables.

Q. Is the tap water safe to drink?
A. Yes, Little Kennisis Lake is a very clean lake. In addition, for added purity, we have had a UV filtration system installed.

Q. Will linens/towels be provided?
A. We provide blankets, comforters, and pillows, but you typically you will need to bring your own bed sheets, pillow cases, kitchen towels, bath towels, etc. For an additional fee we will provide bed sheets, pillow cases and bathroom towels (not beach towels).

Q. What household appliances are at the cottage?
A. Fridge, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer.
Plus a 5 burner propane BBQ (we supply the propane)

Q. Do you have air conditioning?
A. No. The cottage is naturally shaded and cooled by the breezes off the water.

Q. Can we bring our pet?
A. Please inquire about our dog policy with the owners—this is decided on a case-by-case basis. Cats are not permitted at the cottage.

Q. Can we smoke in the cottage and/or guesthouse?
A. No, we ask smokers to smoke outside. We are adamant about this request.

Q. Is the lake water nice to swim in?
A. Yes, it is a beautiful clean lake

Q. Is there a shallow area for young children?
A. There is a nice, hard, gradually sloping rock shelf measuring approximately 20×10 feet where children can splash around. Please note however, that beyond the rock shelf, the lake does drop off more rapidly.

Q. Is there good fishing on Little Kennisis?
A. Yes, the lake has very good fishing.

Q. Should we bring our own life jackets?
A. Yes. We do provide a limited selection of life jacket sizes. However, for your safety, we ask you to bring your own life jackets, as they will fit you properly.

Q. We want to bring our own boat up. Is there a marina nearby where we can launch it?
A. Yes, Kenissis Marina is located 7 km down the road, and they have a boat launch there. We have a dock where you can moor your boat.

Q. Is the hot tub available in the winter?
A. Yes, the hot tub is a year round amenity

Q. How close is the nearest hospital? Grocery store? Other shopping?
A. Haliburton is 35 minutes away minutes away – with a medical clinic, a large grocery store and a selection of restaurants. You will pass through West Guilford on your way to the cottage – with a small grocery store, LCBO outlet and other specialty shops.
